to reach such heights

whether alone or

among the longing for

such memorable fair,

can often bewilder

the faint of heart.

a lofty goal? or

a determined failure

of being?

who’s to say?

we wander aimlessly

through our past, longing

for desperate explanations

and simple truths,

only to discover

life as we know it.
